Learning, Teaching and Assessment research group, University of Manchester
The research activities of the group focus on curriculum and pedagogy and within this theme, past and current projects explore practice and issues that have major impact on learners and learning. The theoretical orientation of the group lies primarily in socio-cultural theory and this is informed by an active social-cultural interest group.
Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC)
The ESRC is the UK's largest organisation for funding research on economic and social issues and supports independent, high quality research which has an impact on business, the public sector and the third sector.
Transmaths
The mathematics education research team at the University of Manchester has undertaken three ESRC funded projects investigating students' trajectories in and through mathematics programmes from school, through college and to Higher Education.
Primas
The Primas project is a collaboration of 12 European countries and has the overall objective of promoting a more widespread uptake of inquiry-based learning in mathematics and science at both primary and secondary levels across Europe.
